DJ Kim, Office Manager &
assistant to Elisabeth Weed and Brettne Bloom

DJ joined The Book Group in June 2021 to support Brettne Bloom and Elisabeth Weed and also to serve as the office manager. She is a first-generation Korean American writer, currently working on her novel and short story collection. She has a BA and MA in English from Seton Hall University and an MFA in fiction from CUNY Brooklyn College. She has won the South Wind Thesis Prize and Brooklyn College’s Himan Brown Award for her short fiction.

Before coming to The Book Group, DJ worked in the literary nonprofit space as the Programs Assistant at Kundiman and as the Development Assistant at One Story. She was also an adjunct lecturer for several years, teaching first-year writing and composition. She hopes to not only be a fierce advocate for her own writing but also for other writers, especially those in the margins.
