An incomplete, ever-changing list of what Jamie Carr is looking for.

Nonfiction:

-       Writers that can take on a big “known” topic and offer a new and unique lens into that topic
- THE FUTURE OF climate, cities, nature, therapy, adoption/alternative family structures, housing, where spirituality meets science, where the body meets medical care and practice, politics, art, sex, technology, food, Jewish issues (and Jewish diaspora), and friendships.
-       Reporting that combines one or more of these: research, sociology, science, found history, cultural analysis to tell a larger story of something that is happening now
- Voice-driven memoir and manifestos by experts with big stories to tell which also offers practical (concretely and spiritually/emotionally) information and advice for readers
-       Creative literary nonfiction that feels urgent and thesis-driven, almost investigative-like

Fiction (adult fiction only, please):

-       Literary fiction with a BIG premise and bite
-       Sexy and smart commercial women’s fiction that makes me belly laugh and weep
-       An ambitious and nuanced love story, either romantic or about a friendship
-       A sweeping intergenerational family epic
-       Upmarket suspense that feels relevant
-       Anything involving food

*Note: Jamie works with adult fiction and nonfiction only.
